A summary is provided below.
Detailed information can be found on Notur's technical support pages.
Stallo is a compute cluster with HP BL 460c blade servers. It has the following configuration:
- 704 servers, each with two Xeon 2.66 Ghz quad-core processors (total 5632 cores), 16 GB RAM and 120 GB disk (50 nodes have 32 GB RAM)
- 128 TB central storage
- 384 nodes are interconnected with InfiniBand (55% of the system), the remainder has GigaBit Ethernet interconnect
Stallo is intended for:
- distributed-memory MPI applications with low communication requirements between the processors
- shared-memory OpenMP applications using up to eight processor cores
- parallel applications with moderate memory requirements (2-4 GB per core)
- embarrassingly parallel applications
