National license for ADF

UNINETT Sigma, the coordinator of the Norwegian HPC project Notur, has entered into an agreement with Scientific Computing & Modelling (SCM) for a national license for ADF. ADF (Amsterdam Density Functional) is a software package for first-principles electronic structure calculations and is used by research groups at various universities in Norway.

The software license covers all academic research in Norway, for ADF, BAND, ADF-GUI source code for ADF and BAND, on all present and future computers, including supercomputers as well as their desktop machines and laptops, until September 1, 2008 (with an option until September 1, 2010), Government institutes that are not academic (defined as "degree-granting"), companies, and for-profit research are excluded.
